Framus Guitars
Framus founded in In 1946 by Alfred Andreas. The first guitars were built in a disused community work camp in Möhrendorf near Erlangen. The company grew and moved to larger facilities in Baiersdorf. Framus also made zithers, basses and banjos. Because of price dumping in the 70’s the company went bankrupt but was revived by the Warwick company and you can purchase original Framus parts on their site.
As a side note I have a late 60’s Framus Texan that I rescued, it sounds awesome and I use it as my fingerpicking guitar.
